KOOMEY UNIT

The BOP Control System, is an essential and crucial component of well control. The units are built to high quality standards and meet API Spec 16D requirements.

The closing units use precharged nitrogen bladder accumulator bottles, hydraulic fluid, and electric- and air- based pumps to generate pressure to operate multiple functions on a BOP stack, from different source of power. An electric Triplex pump required to be fully API16D compliant.

The remote control panels, instead, allow the main accumulator unit with its hydraulic control manifold to be located a safe distance from the rig floor and yet provide full control of the BOP stack, easily accessible to the driller. The driller’s remote panel includes gauge or meters for remote indication of the various operating pressures as per API 16D requirements.
